I’m building an English learning app. What would make you actually use it every day?

Most English apps have the same problem for me: people use them for a few days, then quit.

I’m working on a platform focused on:

-useful vocabulary

-real example sentences

-spaced repetition

-CEFR levels

-reading/listening practice

-making progress visible

But I don’t want to build something that sounds good in theory and feels boring in practice.

What would make an English learning app genuinely useful enough for you to come back every day?

And for anyone who wants the link, feel free to leave a comment or send me a message, whichever you prefer.

Why do so many English learners consume tons of content but still struggle to speak?

I’ve noticed a lot of learners watch YouTube, Netflix, TikTok, podcasts, etc., but still freeze when they need to speak.

Do you think the main problem is:

-lack of speaking practice

-not enough vocabulary

-translating from your native language

-fear of mistakes

-not reviewing what you learn-something else?

What helped you personally improve?
