How is it Morocco has become a powerhouse with no league and we’re still toiling in incompetence

Basically just the title. How is it a nation that basically doesn’t have any of its players playing in their league is able to, in a very short snap of time, make such progress to the level where they are now a household name.

yes I know the story of their federation going after anyone if Moroccan decent to build out the team but that still doesn’t explain it. We basically have the same thing with Germany the way they do with France. Our league is better. So really our floor should be better yet we’re sitting on our asses. I also believe their youth teams have started to win competitions. Are yall telling me Turkiye is more corrupt than this? this incompetent? They live in a desert like are you serious we can’t do better UPDATE: for all the keyboard warriors I was just making a very simplistic point the fact that we have more resources. Not just cause they live in the desert. That statement was to show that their land literally isn’t as available and fertile as ours to make soccer fields  !?? shame on TFF and all their bullshit, 24 years in the waiting just to shit yourself on the world stage, pathetic

The NT Needs a Target Man to Reach the Next Level

Look at most of the teams in the WC that are competing at a high level. Most all of them have a target man who can finish chances, we on the other hand have none of that, that’s why 60+ shots on goal mean nothing when you can’t finish them properly.

England has Kane, Norway has Haaland, France has Mbappe(and other embarrassment of riches), USA has Balogun, etc. The teams that are struggling the most and have had shock exits are those without a solid striker/finisher. Look at Germany who use to have the likes of Klose and Muller, now they have Havertz? Netherlands, a nation of strikers, now has no one.

These teams who don’t have too much talent but can excel in low blocks, can only really seem to be defeated by those who can score on them to open them up. You saw with this NT that, yes we do have great players around the pitch, but we have no one to finish chances. Nutella is trying to turn this team into prime Barca and that’s not who we are or have the ability to be. Sure we can beat the occasional hungry or Austria, but any team with a solid low block will pretty much fuck us up. And honestly Nutella’s tactics were fairly shit anyways. Even in the euros in 24 it didn’t seem like we ever scored a goal from tactics but rather just brilliant individual moments, that shit isn’t sustainable. also his inability to adapt in any way and make quick changes shows his very limited and has most likely taken us as far as he can.

we need someone with more innovation and someone who is willing to build up a striker. i have no idea who that would be, maybe you just pick a promising youth player and just go with him and hope he implements into the team moving forward. We have very good pieces at play, we just need to find a finisher up top who can take this team to another level.

The State of Youth Football

I know everyone on here talks about how Turkiye needs to invest in and develop their youth football systems. For those more knowledgeable on this, what does that actually mean? how would it look like? is youth development the same in all the major nations? how do we know which model best fits us?

I guess I am just curious to know what actually it means to invest in youth football as a nation and what blueprint would work the best for a hypothetical Turkiye where corruption is not as rampant and there is some competence. the French model seems to be linked to have certain type to immigrant, doesn’t seem to match ours play. Italy seem to be on the downturn themselves. England haven’t won anything in decades. really only the Spanish and German systems seem to kind of match our own style of play but I could be wrong. which do you think would work the best for us in this hypothetical and why?

Who to replace with?

Many on this board want the old guard of this squad removed. I am also one of them and agree with that sentiment. However id like to hear who would we replace these players with exactly?

if we remove:

Hakan C.

Merih

Zeki

Apo

Akaydin

Salih

Irfan

Caglar

and I am sure I missed some others like Kerem who may or may not be worthy of being in the squad along with Baris. Some of these positions are vital to the team, do we have actual replacements for them already or should we do a complete switch in terms of formation?

Thought experiment - Actually a competent footballing nation

We all know how just how much the German footballing machine is able to produce Turkish talent that is poached by the TFF. Germany, a nation with a minority of a Turkish population, let’s say about 5 million or so, is able to produce talents the Turkish national team relies on and possibly its best talents.

Now as just a thought, let’s say we were able to export the German model, or whatever competent model you want to go with and fully apply it to the Turkish setup. in this idea, no corruption, or at least very minimal would occur, basically whatever the realities of those federations are, let’s say it’s the exact same for us as well.

if that was done, what do you think would be able to be achieved? would we see turkish talents reach the level of top football? You’d imagine if Germany is able to develop top players from a pool of 5 million, with the same model we should be able to do even better with a pool of 80+ million. Would Turkey finally able to reach that top echelon tier? I’d imagine if this were to occur, a World Cup might be won at some point.

How far is this squad making it in the World Cup?

formation might be a bit messed up but I think yall get the idea. midfield with Hamit and Hakan is duo that should make everything interesting and the attack looks incredible. I am saying Semifinal

i tried to pick players from the 2010s to now only, not all time greats or anything.

2010s All Decade Team + If the Dual Nationals Selected Us

On a boring Saturday, thought we’d do play with an idea. the 2010s decade of Turkish football I would say was very disappointing. with the way 2008 euros ended. you’d have imagined we’d be on the come up but actually the team barely made any tournaments beside euro 2016 which was very disappointing in itself.

now the team wasn’t without talent. this decade feels more like a transitional one where old stars had fallen off but new ones failed to fill their shoes. we also saw lots of dual national German Turks choose Germany over Turkey, in more recent years this trend seems to have flipped.

with that in mind, what would have happened had those dual nationals actually played for Turkey instead? would our teams actually gotten somewhere? with that idea, I made a 2010s all decade team plus if all the German Turks plays for Turkey instead. i might have cheated a bit with a players like Zan and Cetin but man the CB position was a barren wasteland for this decade.

The starting lineup is probably similar except the depth that this team would have would be a real strength I believe

what do yall think? what kind of likeup would you have gone with? what could this team have achieved?
