Hi all,

When I layer up for cold-weather hiking (incl. night camping) I usually go with a merino long-sleeve, a fleece, a down jacket, and a rain jacket. From the research I’ve done online, this also seems to be the most popular setup.

However, while the fleece (Patagonia Synchilla) is warm, it’s SOOO bulky. It takes up so much space in my bag. What do you wear as a mid-layer to chill at camp that’s warm but more compact?
