I was going to just cross post with my post on r/APResearch, but for some reason this subreddit doesn't allow just text posts? Anyway, I asked a couple days ago on the AP research subreddit for questions students have regarding the AP Research paper, but recognized that most students in that subreddit are seniors that just finished the paper and are waiting, impatiently, for us to finish (we're about halfway through all the papers submitted this year at this point). I wanted to leave it open for students who are thinking forward to ask questions BEFORE their papers are due.
NOTE: I do not read for the AP Seminar exam, so I can't answer ANY questions about that. I also do not pre-read papers and I cannot tell you if a certain AP Research topic would get a 5 (it's more nuanced than this). I also, reasonably, cannot violate student confidentiality and answer questions regarding specific papers (i.e., "what's the coolest paper you've read?").
Title. This is my second year as an AP Research reader, and I find the number of questions on this Reddit reasonably goes up while we're reading. I wanted to give students an opportunity to ask questions, either as rising seniors or people who just completed the AP Research project, on whatever they want to someone who is on the other side of the process.
NOTE: I am, of course, employed by CollegeBoard at this time and am held to confidentiality, which means certain questions are outside of what I'm probably legally able to answer. This includes questions like "what's the craziest AP Research paper you've ever read". I also do not pre-read papers or cannot reasonably tell you, by topic alone, if a paper would be deserving of a 5 (it's way more nuanced than this).
