Recommendations for moderate upgrade over 2 TB
My three 2TB WD My Passports (one is an Ultra) are getting close to capacity. I’ve had them all for many years and there are no signs of problems from the last time I added stuff to them back around February.
I was originally thinking about getting a couple of 6TB WD My Passport Ultra drives, since mine have served me well, and then a larger-capacity NAS drive to put in an enclosure when I can afford it. However, I’m not sure if the 6TB My Passports are as reliable as the 2TB models, or if it would be cheaper and/or more reliable to get an internal/NAS model and put an enclosure on it.
These drives would, if I’m consistent, have stuff backed up to them once a week or month.
With the market changing so rapidly, I would appreciate any advice y’all could give me.
