Redeem as soon as available?

Late to the game, but just realized u can now redeem cash back anytime...on the momentum visa infinite. That kinda means u should always just redeem as soon as u cross 25$...right? Or any reason to keep stacking it? (Other than saving i mean)
I'm assuming there's no benefit to redeem more at once / less often?

Gears show a -

I'm 500km in...so fairly new to everything. Toom things easy and slowly, but started doing longer rides lately ("longer"...as in 150km).
Now....it's happened twice already that when i stop, especially from higher gears, and try to gear down...there's a "-" sign there the gear would be (so instead of showing 5 and then 4...just goes into a "-").

I am holding the clutch while doing this...and noticed if i actually down shift, it doesn't do that. Also noticed that releasing the clutch a little seems to work refresh it....but wondering what this is....is that expected? If that happens how do u reset it?

The first time it happened it was at a stop. Formed a queue behind me as i pulled the bike aside...and got it working eventually...

It's a 2026 Rebel500.

earplugs to revving

Switched to Alpine MotoSafe Tour earplugs and, yes, immediate upgrade. But now I’m also revving the bike more, which has activated the “am I doing this wrong?” part of my brain.

Wind noise went from “angry leaf blower inside my skull” to “reasonable atmospheric re-entry simulation.” There’s still some noise at higher speeds, obviously, but compared to the previous chaos? Huge improvement.

The weird part: I think I was relying way more on engine sound than I realized (and probably my head is way more preset from cars?)...because before, my shifting followed a nice little algorithm:

20 km/h: probably 2nd
30 -> 3rd
40 -> 4th
50 to 70 km/h: 5th, because apparently I was operating a tractor

Now that the earplugs are cutting out a lot of the engine noise, I’m finding myself doing stuff like 50 km/h in 3rd, and the bike seems totally fine with it. Maybe even happier? Hard to tell. My Rebel doesn’t exactly have a “current emotional state of engine” gauge (or a tachometer).

So now I’m wondering: was I under-revving it before? Am I revving it too much now? How do you all figure out the right shift points when you’re wearing earplugs and can’t hear the engine as clearly?

Do you go by feel, vibration, throttle response, speed, RPM, divine intervention, or just “the bike will complain if it hates this”?

Bike seems to be running well. I just don’t want to accidentally discover some expensive new form of mechanical education.

Weird high pitch sound

Removed the stickers from my tank the other day and noticed a kinda of a high pitched sound coming from..inside tank....but with everything turned off (engine is off, kill switch is on..or off...whatever, nothing is turned on). However, every few minutes, there's a high pitched sound (very faint) coming from inside the tank.

What is that? Is why does it run while the bike is off? (Rebel 500)
