Finished Persona 3
So I just finished persona 3 as of 1 hour and a half ago so I decided to talk about it while it’s fresh in my mind. This was my second persona game and third Altus game as a whole. As a reference, my first Atlus game was Metaphor and then P5R.
So on to the thoughts about the game. I honestly went into this game mostly blind except for a bit of huge spoilers (makoto death😅 and nyx) But as a whole I thought this game was an 8.9/10. The game was pretty slow at first but really started picking up at around shinjiros death. But once January kicked in the game really shone for me. Soundtrack was amazing. I have no words tbh for how good these tracks were. Aesthetic was great love the blue theme. Strega was lowk horrible imo. They just weren’t compelling villains at all. On to the difficulty, this game was WAY too easy. The party members I used were mainly yukari, junpei(goat) and aigis. I sweeped most of January and block 6 with messiah and lv90+ party members. The social links were mainly boring but with some shining stars. Namely Akinari, Maiko, and Aigis but this is probably due to the social links being a new thing when p3 came out. The story of the game was being praised as the best but I want to rephrase that as the writing of the game is the best but maybe just a preference of mine. I think characters like Junpei and especially Aigis are my favorite because of how well written they were and that i love the whole thing of robots feeling emotion shtick. Tartarus was fun at first but became a slog in blocks 3-5 with my favorite blocks being 1, 4, and 6. That’s it for the thoughts
Comparisons to P5R. Soundtrack of Reload is better. Aesthetic is better. Story is worse imo because the pacing brought it down. P5R is consistent throughout with the exception of maybe the first palace. I think the peaks of p3r‘s social links were better than p5’s with the latter having better social links in general. Overall I think P5R is better but p3r is great as well and i love both.
I have yet to play The Answer yet tho i heard some negative stuff about it but tell me what you guys think if I should play it. So yeah for final thoughts it’s pretty solid game, elizabeth is BS I didn’t beat her, Yukari is best girl, and Junpei is a goat
