TX-5100 died today, only 3 years old.

I have a Onkyo TX-5100 AV set up thats ONLY 3 years old, and it started losing the sound when I turned it on... its hooked up to an Apple TV with a Samsung display.

All of a sudden, when I turned it on, I would get an oblong box image where the volume bar should be on the TV display. A few times the volume bar animation would show YYYY on the left side of the image (where the volume indicator should be). I changed all the HDMI cables, rebooted everything and it is still an issue.

At first I could unplug it, hear 5 clicks, and then plug it back in and it would reset. But it continually got worse over a few weeks until it didn't turn the the sound on at all.

Spoke to Onkyo support and they said that some board went bad and it probably would cost more to repair than its worth, SERIOUSLY?!

I always thought the name Onkyo meant quality, but since researching this issue I have read a lot of horror stories with their AV Receivers.
