We have a converted 2015 Sprinter 2500 van. We’ve owned it for almost 5 years and are replacing the starter battery approximately every 1.5- 2 years. The last mechanic suggested we get an auxiliary battery to support the starter battery. We think that’s a great suggestion and nice to have someone point that out. Instead of auxiliary battery can we run the inverter off solar panels on the roof? (I’m in finance so please answer like I know nothing about batteries).

Update- we also have two optima batteries in the garage with a battery isolater. I’ll add photos. The inverter connects to the marine batteries. We tested them and found them to be at 80%.
