Thoughts?

ECG shows HR at 34bpm, taken after dizziness and LOC. Months later, had a similar episode which documented a heart pause of 15 seconds. What is likely causing this?

Leadless pacemaker procedure in a week

26F here. I’ve finally been given a date for my leadless pacemaker implantation, which is scheduled for next Tuesday. The procedure will be done under general anaesthesia.

I’m feeling pretty nervous as it’ll be my first time having general anaesthesia, and I’m not really sure what to expect. For context, I need a pacemaker as I have had a documented 15 second pause, followed by a 10 second pause a minute apart where I passed out while awake (I’ve had 3 other similar undocumented episodes).

For anyone who has had a leadless pacemaker implanted:
- What was your experience like?
- What can I expect on the day and during recovery?
- Do you have any tips for preparing beforehand or making recovery easier afterwards?

I’d really appreciate hearing from others who have gone through it. Thank you!

26F awaiting leadless pacemaker surgery

I’ve been told I need a leadless pacemaker due to a documented symptomatic sinus pause lasting 15 seconds with syncope and loss of consciousness (recorded on loop recorder). I have also had 3 other fainting episodes over the past 2 years, but this was the only episode where the pause was captured.

For those that have gone through this process, what were some things that helped you through the waiting period? How long did you have to wait for the procedure? Due to my insurance and scheduling, I will most likely be waiting around 2.5 months from diagnosis to implantation (I’m halfway there but finding it really difficult mentally).

I’m sure I will feel fine once the pacemaker is in but waiting around for the procedure has me very anxious and I’m really struggling to process all of this. Would appreciate some advice from someone that has been through this/had a similar experience.

Thank you for reading.
