WTF is this ?

I just came across this, like WTF is going on? Is this a sort of a joke? With this mentality, we are cooked as a country lol🙌🏾😂

MultiChoice Africa

Did the platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime and the age of fast affordable internet and Smart Tvs kill their business?

Personally, I own two DStv decoders (one for a Zim account and one for an SA account), but I don’t even remember the last time I paid a subscription. I have completely moved to piracy football streams, YouTube, and Netflix for movies. I was wondering if some of you are still using the DStv platform or if you've completely cut the cord too?

Content Creators

I hope this post finds everyone well. Is it only me who thinks our own Zim content creators actually lack diversity? Because of this, I deleted TikTok as soon as they started spamming it. Most of them only post about explicit stuff and bedroom stuff.

I had to edit this post to clarify certain things !!

I ran TikTok passively like a beginner just to see what the raw local pool looked like, but I heavily curate my other platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook) strictly for tech, gaming, football, pets, and astronomy.
On those exact same curated feeds, the algorithms easily find and surface niche creators from South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria for me. For Zim, it is a total ghost town. An algorithm cannot surface content that hasn't been uploaded the local supply in these spaces simply isn’t there.
More importantly, we need to look past our own ability to filter feeds and think about the default, out of the box state of these platforms. Think about vulnerable users like young kids or older people who don’t know how to manually manipulate watch-time metrics or block keywords. They are completely stuck with the baseline default. If the dominant local output is overwhelmingly trapped in bedroom drama and gossip, that is exactly what the most impressionable minds are being fed by default.
If anyone could actually point to numerous active Zim pages dedicated to astronomy, wildlife, or gaming, we wouldn't even be arguing about diversity. It's a textbook market gap, not a user troubleshooting issue.
