I believe I’ve discovered a minor sinus. Is it possible to get rid of it?
I started experiencing some minor discomfort at the bottom of my tail bone but nothing crazy. I didn’t think much of it until it started bleeding and draining puss so I had my wife check it out and she took a picture of what I can only describe as a relatively small crater in my buttcrack. After some Google-fu it seems to match all the characteristics of a Pilonidal Sinus. Thankfully it doesn’t hurt really, just a little itchy and a little uncomfortable.
I don’t have a GP so I intend to go to an urgent care or something similar to figure out my options. I found this subreddit though and it’s making me question if this is even something that can be “cured”? It seems like most people say they need surgery to make it go away which isn’t ideal.
I’m planning to go to an urgent care or something similar anyways so I’m not really looking for advice per say, unless someone has a better idea, but wanted to ask the community if I’m going to have a hole in my butt forever now?
