Is your SO Iranian?
The other post I made asking about ethnicity was really interesting to see the responses and I saw in another post someone was saying most Iranians abroad don’t marry other Iranians. I thought it would be interesting to make another post asking this question.
If you live abroad, is your SO Iranian? If not, what ethnicity are they? And why do you think you didn’t end up with an Iranian partner? Were you actively seeking a non-Iranian?
If you’re single, would you prefer an Iranian or non-Iranian partner?
I‘m not asking to judge, this stuff just really interests me. So many other ethnicities marry within their own kind but Iranians seem to be different. My SO is Afghan. We align on our values more than I do with most Iranian men.
Are people here actually Persian?
This sub is called "persian" but the description says it's for all Iranians. So I'm curious what ethnicity people who post on here are? I'm half Persian and half Pashtun.
Also, is this sub mostly second generation Iranians in the west?
You can't have it both ways
I hope you nationalists realize there is a way to be against the Islamic Republic without being against Islam as a religion. It's so sad when you all deny the influence of IRANIANS on Islam and act like all of Iran's problems today are from something that happened thousands of years ago and ignore all of history that happened since then. The majority of us Iranian Muslims DO NOT support the IRGC. Stop with the Islamophobic BS. Stop telling Iranian Muslims they aren't Iranian because of their faith.
Feeling distraught as an Iranian Muslim
I've been lurking this forum for a few weeks now and as an Iranian Muslim I feel really frustrated. There is so much hate against people like me from my fellow Iranians. I don't support the IRGC. I want them to fall just as much as any other Iranian. I attended WLF protests and went to some of the recent protests in the US too. But, more and more I'm hearing that Iranians aren't Muslim and Islam is a backwards religion. But, some of us are Muslim. I understand if you have your views about religion, but you're making Iranian Muslims not want to stand in solidarity with you. It's just going to break up the opposition and give more power to the IRGC. I guess I'm just ranting and hoping I'm not alone in feeling this way.
