Controversy mars reparatory justice commission report release
Such a shit show

Such a shit show
Violent crime is already out of control. Going to be an ugly summer.
When will we see the police footage of the scene where they shit and killed a woman’s at a gas station on Cleveland road?
Its likely not going to be favorable for the police otherwise they would have released it by now.
They took only a few days to release the body cam footage of the incident at McDonalds last year when they roughed up that 14 years old.
We are coming up on two weeks now.
The city does nothing but play games. Afraid of getting sued?!? Over a report? LOOOOOL. No one believes that
Usual cast of characters and corruption. No one is suprised with any of this same shenanigans we have seen from the city. Handing out money to friends.
Kareemah Fowler leaves the city and is in over head as cfo for the schools. she gets her hands on some money and start doling it out to friends.
Karen White got $50,000. No contract. What exactly did she do for that money? Nothing. No receipts, not outcomes.
Leslie wesley sitting board member gets $1 million to do....stuff????
Same story with Lynn Coleman, Bobbie woods, etc. Recieved thousands of dollars and did nothing.
Oh and $250,000 for another friend chakesha Donaldson who started a nonprofit Alignment Ventures to recieve this money and they even started cutting the checks to it BEFORE it was started as an entity!
That is on top of the no bid contracts that went to friends, of course all went over scope, with few documents, few board approval, little oversight
Every single one of these people should be in jail.
South Bend has been experiencing a massive uptick in reported crime, following a period of decline that did not keep pace with national improvements.
While crime levels nationally fell sharply after the pandemic‑era spike, particularly from 2022 through 2024, South Bend’s decline was slower and less consistent
Nationally, violent crime fell by more than 7% from 2023 to 2024 and is now more than 50% below its early‑1990s peak, driven largely by sharp declines in homicides, robberies, and gun assaults in large U.S. cities.
In contrast, South Bend’s violent crime rate, while improving from its post‑COVID peak, remained substantially higher than the national average and declined at a slower rate.
South Bend’s violent crime profile is heavily driven by aggravated assault keeping the overall violent crime rate high even during years when murders declined
