Pedestrians not looking before crossing

I walk and drive in Portland a lot so I get that drivers need to pay attention (I’ve almost been hit in cross walks many times). However, pedestrians also need to learn to pause and look before walking in front of cars. I’ve had to slam on my brakes so many times because someone just starts walking out when they’re in a blind spot behind parked cars or just walking on the sidewalk and decide now’s the time to cross without pause at all. It’s equal responsibility to pay attention when driving or walking. And don’t get me started in the cyclist who don’t seem to believe they have to obey any traffic laws lol
