Hey guys, I really need some honest advice because I feel completely stuck right now.

My current CRS score is 508 (CEC), and my work permit is expiring on July 14. My employer has already asked me to either resign or provide proof of authorization to continue working.

Right now, I’m trying to max out my CELPIP and hopefully reach 514. I’m really hoping that would be enough to get an ITA in the next draw.

I’m confused about what to do in the meantime:
Should I apply for a visitor record to stay in status?
Or go for a “dummy” work permit option?

I’m just scared of making the wrong move that could affect my PR chances later. My plan is to improve my score ASAP and hopefully get invited soon, but everything feels so uncertain.

Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate your advice on my situation.

I currently have a CRS score of 514 and my PGWP is expiring on July 14. I’ve done everything I realistically can to maximize my score, and there isn’t much room left to improve it further at the moment.

I’m trying to decide my next step and I’m considering three options:

1)Apply for a visitor record extension and stay in Canada as a visitor after my PGWP expires.

2)Let my status lapse into the 90-day restoration period and go back home country, hoping for a draw/ITA so I can proceed with PR and potentially a BOWP.

3)Go back to my home country and gain one year of foreign skilled work experience, then re-enter the pool with a higher CRS score.

I’m feeling a bit stuck weighing the risks of maintaining status in Canada vs. stepping out to strengthen my profile long-term.

Would really appreciate any insights, especially from anyone who has been in a similar situation or has experience with timing around draws and status decisions.
