Two New Arisaka’s

Got around to adding a couple more arisaka’s to my collection. I got a matched 27th series Nagoya Type 38 rifle. Fully matched with a mum, sans dust cover. Looks to be in excellent condition. The real win was the Type 30 Carbine. I’d had looked into getting a type 30 for awhile now. I didn’t think I’d be lucky to get a carbine. She’s pretty rough but everything is assembly number matched except all the bolt components, magazine floorplate, Trigger and bottom tang. Otherwise everything else is still original this rifle. Very happy to have these two.

New Enfield

Recently acquired this No.1 Mk3. Metal parts matching 1918. Everything looked good but when I went to muzzle test the gun at home the muzzle test was not good. Is it basically a wall hanger or is there something to be done about it? The bore when looked at looks dark but has defined rifling.

Type 46/66

Maybe not an Arisaka but it is made in Japan. Decided to get one of these to add to the “Japanese made guns” part of my collection. Came with a bayonet with what I believe is an original frog. The stock also seems to be in very good shape with some nice finish. Interestingly the Cleaning rod lug has been removed and plugged. Really happy to have this one especially with a bayonet.

Finally got my first M24. Finally have all of the “main line” Finnish rifles. M24-M39. It is built off of a 1917 Sestro receiver. Has been counter bored about an inch but is otherwise good rifling. Super happy to have this one.

Picked up this beautiful condition VZ. 24 a couple days ago. Fully matched with no import mark. The stock and handgaurd are assembly number matched under the wood line. It also has what looks like an early Nazi K98 bayonet lug on it but the bluing matches the rest of the gun. Interestingly it’s had the wrist swivel removed and filled in and has a marked stock disk. I would like to know what the “8D” on the stock disk stands for. Thanks!

Picked up my first Type 38 carbine. It’s a Nagoya produced and beautiful example. Glad to finally have this variant. Fully complete and matched other than the dust cover.
