Do they remove lymph nodes to check for spread in all cases ?!

I had a partial thyroidectomy two weeks ago. I was diagnosed with 1 cm PTC on the right lobe. I'm waiting to see the surgeon post op next week.

My surgeon never mentioned removing any lymph nodes in the surgery. Is this routinely done in surgeries or is it a case by case decision ?!

Did anyone have just the thyroid removed without any lymph nodes removed ??

Thanks

Update : Sponsorship license revoked

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd post an update on my situation. My workplace had sent a Pre- Action Protocol couple days after they got the decision letter to revoke sponsorship. 14 calendar days after the PAP, we received a letter from Home Office saying sponsorship was reinstated and that I can continue to work with my sponsor.

For the PAP, lawyers included payslips from last six months, my work contract, bank statements from me and the employer showing I was paid and my self assessment tax records as I'm self employed.

When they revoked the license, my whole world was turned upside down. I cannot say I received much support from this subreddit when I previously posted. The majority of comments on my post were to call me dodgy and to say my workplace was doing something illegal. People commented on my self employed status more than the actual issue. Nobody wanted to believe that the Home Office, could in fact make a mistake. The responses on the post made me deeply sad.

I'm posting this now for anyone in the future who could be in a similar situation.
