Rebuilding a broken chess piece from old photos, is that realistic?

My son lost the white knight from a wooden chess set my dad hand turned in the 80s. We still have the black knight, so I could scan that, but the white one had a slightly different mane. I have about 10 photos of it from family game nights. My plan was to scan the black knight with my phone and maybe try supavoxel on the photos to get the mane closer. Has anyone done something like this? Is it worth it or should I just copy the black one?
