Choice between FWC and NCWRC
Hey everyone, I have a conditional offer with FWC and recently completed a panel interview with NCWRC. Nothing is final yet, but I may need to choose between them. I’ve lived in South Florida most of my life and am ready for a change. I applied to North Florida counties near Tallahassee with FWC and to NCWRC because I’m drawn to the mountains and four seasons.
On paper, FWC offers higher pay, overtime, tuition assistance, and strong career opportunities. But quality of life matters too, being closer to the mountains, having better access to outdoor recreation that I specifically want to get into, and 4 seasons Aaliyah sound very appealing. I am planning on living in a camper l, so I am flexible as well.
For those with experience in either agency, what are your thoughts? Does the Tallahassee area feel like a real change from South Florida? If you chose between FWC and NCWRC, what influenced your decision?
