Agentic AI Coursework Requests for OMSCS

I'm not sure if there is an official avenue for course requests for the OMSCS program, but I had a couple that I had been looking at from the Stanford Online Graduate Certificate that I wish we had available in the OMSCS program.

The first is "CS224V: Agentic AI":

The second is "CS329A: Self Improving AI Agents"

Both of these courses are available online from Stanford and official courses in their graduate curriculum as well. For the OMSCS program, we currently do not cover these topics in any available classes. I had also looked into if it may be possible to take the courses and transfer the credits, but for Georgia Tech, it looks like you only transfer 2 courses if they're taken before enrollment into the program.

Not sure if this is the right avenue to ask, but are courses like this being developed for OSMCS? If so when could we expect for them to land as registrable courses, and could they count toward the AI Specialization?

Can research at another university count toward OMSCS research/project credits?

I had some questions regarding pursuing research outside of Georgia Tech. I'm very interested in being a visiting scholar at another university that is more local to me (I'm currently working in the Bay Area). I've seen that there are some Georgia Tech PhD students who are visiting scholars involved with research labs in Stanford / UC Berkeley.

I was looking into spending roughly 1 year at a research lab here and wanted to see whether I could count this toward research credits. (e.g. CS 8903/6999) Ideally for 9 credits to fulfill the "Project Track" of OMSCS.

This question is for both faculty or other students that have pursued this previously.

If this is a possibility, what does the process look like? Say I'm able to get accepted into the research group of interest, what is required on the Georgia Tech side to formally request research credits for this? Do I need a Georgia Tech professor willing to sponsor/supervise the research? Could a professor at the host university serve as the primary research advisor, or would the project need to be formally led by Georgia Tech faculty?

I'm hoping to begin around January 2027, so I'd also appreciate any information about the approval process, requirements, or who I may need to contact to formalize a request like this.

Which courses have the best lecture/content?

For people that have taken many classes in the program or already completed the program, which courses did you think had the best/most-digestible lectures?

Planning out some of my future coursework, and honestly knowing myself if the lecture material is super-dry or uninteresting I get demotivated to continue with the class.

Some classes I have enjoyed are NLP, ML4T, RAIT. Any more like this? Classes that are interesting/engaging?

Will there be more Agentic AI Coursework in the Pipeline

Hello, I'm currently aiming to do the AI Specialization, but since there has been a lot of rapid changes in the field over the last 3 years, I feel that some of our courses are outdated / not keeping up with the rate of development in AI. For example, I was very interested in learning more about Agentic AI + applications within industry i.e. Agenitc SOC, Orchestration of Agents, etc. I feel like this has created some new challenges within the distributed computing landscape that are not covered by coursework available in OMSCS.

The closest I've seen is the seminar CS 8001 OAA (Agentic AI Essentials) which is a 1 Credit Hour Seminar. I've also seen some talks of people using their CS 8903 toward Research in Agentic AI in some cases. However, I'm still left wanting more even after discovering these options. This question is really directed more at faculty, but is there plans in the short term to adapt coursework in this field and release it to OMSCS whether it is a Special Topic course or more traditional course that is released?
