Standard D before Low D

I only play for myself, but I would like to properly structure my learning. Is it ridiculous to buy a Low D before a standard D? Thank you.

Seydel Low Bold body

Hello, I adore my Seydel 1847. I'm thinking about getting a Low D, but I'm concerned about the size of the Bold. Is it more manageable than it looks, or is a Rocket a better choice? Thank you.

Hohner or stick to Seydel?

I've got a Seydel Silver 1847 in Bb which I really like, but find the 3 draw difficult.

I've got a Seydel Session Steel in A which I like after changing to 1847 cover plates.

I've got a Special 20 in C which plays easily, but feels lower quality.

For a D, should I stick with Seydel or try a Marine Band Deluxe or a Crossover? Do you think it better to branch out or focus, especially as the steel seems to require a different touch?

For me, longevity is an important consideration, but I'm not a hard player. I'm also still learning how to control bends.

Thank you.

moving directly to bend

I can bend, but inevitably I start with the draw note and then pull it down. I've tried stopping when bending, pulling the harmonica out of my mouth and resuming the bend, and that sometimes works, but right now it feels impossible that I will ever be able to move from a draw 2 to a 3 bend (even one not in tune!). Any suggestions? Thank you.

Low D or Low D minor

I'm looking to buy my first Low harmonica, and the only Low D my local place has is a Low D minor.

I only play for my own pleasure, and I don't know any music theory.

Is Low D minor a reasonable choice, or should I stick with a Low major?

Thank you.

Which would you recommend for a first low harp? I have a G, but not a D, so I'm leaning towards the Low D. I'm not committed to any particular style, and only play for myself. Thanks.

Hello,

I feel like to get a 3 draw I need to suck on the harmonica rather than breathe through it. Is that just the way it is, and I need to work on my technique, or does it sound like a gapping issue?

I am still very much a beginner. I can inconsistently bend when puckering, but I'm now trying to learn to tongue block for playing single notes. At this stage, should I continue trying to bend while puckering, or am I better off moving towards bending while tongue blocking and just concentrate on all things tongue blocking? Thanks.
