18 days between appointment & flight (2nd attempt after refusal)

Hi

My appointment is on the 15th of July. This is my second attempt at obtaining a French Schengen visa. I applied first on the 9th of June and got a refusal on the 24th. My sisters applied on the 17th of June and were granted visas on the 30th.

In the new application, I prepared copies of my sisters’ passports and visas, our shared hotel confirmation letters, and a cover letter addressing the reason of the first refusal and explaining my intentions of traveling and returning with my sisters. I did not change my flight date for the reapplication.

I received my first refusal in business 14 days, while my sisters got their visas in 10 days.

There are 18 calendar days between my appointment and flight. Will this be a problem? And what are the odds of refusal?

Sisters’ visas were accepted, mine was rejected

Hi everyone,

I posted this a while ago.

My sisters applied a week later, and today their visas got approved. What I don’t understand is that just a day before their appointment, I deposited a huge amount of money into one of their accounts. And yet I still got rejected, and they got accepted.

We were planning on traveling together for tourism, and now they are urging me to apply again. What should I include in the new application? Should I include photocopies of their visas and write in the cover letter that I am traveling with them?

Visa got rejected for (apparently) no valid reason

Hi,

I applied for a Schengen visa through Capago (France) and it got rejected due to the reasons in the image.

The thing is that at the time of application I had a minimum $7k in my bank account and I provided a 6 month bank statement, I provided airplane tickets, hotel bookings, work permit, salary certificate, and a certificate from where I work that shows I have been working there for the past 4 years and I have renewed my contract for next year. And I still got no sufficient means for subsistence and no proof of the return to my country of residence.

How do you deal with team partners who do absolutely nothing?

I started teaching high school this year with another teacher who also moved up from middle school with me. We’ve been grade-level partners for years.

This year we both started a brand new curriculum from scratch. I shared EVERYTHING all year including slides, worksheets, quizzes, homework, tests…

Meanwhile her contribution was almost zero. Same thing happened in middle school too where I was usually the one creating and submitting everything.

Today we had a test due, and I intentionally didn’t start it early because I wanted to see if anyone else would take initiative.

Nobody did.

So this morning I opened my laptop and started making the test myself with no intention to send it unless explicitly asked for by the HOD. About an hour later, she comes up to me asking “Did you finish the test?”

That comment genuinely shocked me because it made me realize she had basically been waiting for me to do it the entire time.

What hurts even more is that my place in high school next year isn’t even guaranteed because of our school’s track system, while hers is secure. And she was offered the AP/elective class we used to share before I was even considered.

I’m honestly exhausted of constantly proving myself while other people benefit from the work and still get opportunities.

HOW do you stop becoming the one who carries the entire team without creating tension at work?

Hello

I have been a teacher for the past four years. I have a degree in physics, but since I graduated I haven’t taught physics in a classroom at all. I only taught middle school science and high school environmental science. This means that there was no actual growth/development in my own field. This year has been kind of tough, so I applied to France to pursue a master’s degree in physics. I got an acceptance a few days ago and I am so confused now 😭

Getting this degree has been on my mind ever since I graduated and this year I applied because I felt like it is time.

My family, as well as me, has mixed feelings about this: risking a stable job that provides a relatively good income might not be the best decision.

And friends are saying that I have wanted this for a long time, so I should just go for it without hesitation. Worst case scenario is that I would get back to my teaching position once I finish this year and get the degree.

What do you think of this?
