NeWorlDeli

What am I missing? This restaurant is highly rated, but every meal I’ve ever had here has been either mediocre or just bad. Last night, I got the chicken deluxe sandwich with fries. The fries were cold, soft and unseasoned, the sandwich buns were stale in some places and absolutely soggy in most, the avocado was brown and tasted ~not good~, the chicken was tough and dry as leather. Every previous time I had gone it was “meh”, but last night’s meal was just bad, and I’m not sure I ever want to try it again.

AND to be clear - the vibe is great, I love the setting, I love the live music, I love that it’s in my neighborhood. I just SO badly want the food to match the scene!

Issues with PC

Like so many others in this subreddit, I purchased this PC through Costco cause it is a great deal and I’m a new gamer, so not looking for anything fancy. The PC arrived today, and I was setting it up and the PC would not register the keyboard, mouse, or my monitor, but the fans and lights all worked. I connected with CyberpowerPC customer service to troubleshoot (hard shut down, disconnect and reconnect RAM, disconnect and reconnect GPU, remove CMOS battery to reset BIOS), etc and nothing was working. I’ve eventually exchanged this PC for a new one. Are these problems typical of gaming computers or am I just unlucky? Hopefully the next one is not troublesome…

EDIT: came across a reddit thread discussing this same exact issue, and it was resolved by switching the RAM sticks to a different slot. I attempted it with this PC and sure enough everything is working like a charm. Still getting a replacement though because a faulty RAM slot right out the box is not ideal. But, for future reference that is a likely way to resolve this problem!

Austin drivers, put your damn phone down

If yall are driving behind the wheel of a vehicle, you need to get off your fuckin phones. I don’t care if you’re actively driving or stopped, put the cellphone down. There’s no reason you need to be on that thing while you are operating a 4,000lb vehicle. I’m a bicyclist and my eyes are constantly scanning the road, the number of drivers I see actively texting or otherwise scrolling is just egregious - blowing stop signs and red lights, stopping in an intersection cause they were on their phone going too fast to stop in time, weaving into different lanes of traffic, simply not going at a green light cause they’re more invested in their screen than the road. You are not the only person that exists in the world and your actions could have real life consequences to other drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists. Accept some personal responsibility before you kill someone.

And before you think “well no one saw me”. I did! And I report you and your license plate to the city every time. Eat shit
