The 1961 version of West Side Story is being rereleased on a 4K disc on September 11th 2026. Just thought I'd make a post about it since I had literally no idea this was happening despite being a massive West Side fan and 4K collector.

I think it's safe to say that this has been a difficult couple of days for all of us. This massive pillar of a hobby we've held so dear is being struck down right in front of us. You have a right to mourn. Your feelings are 100% valid. As someone who's been collecting games and movies for over 15 years, this hit me like a truck. But keep this in mind: One of our favorite things about these discs and cases is that they never disappear. We will continue having the experience of going to the store and buying new games and movies. We will still have that excitement of looking for the next cool discovery. Just because Sony stops making the discs in 2028 doesn't mean all the old ones are gone, and the hobby stops existing. There's still tons of collecting to do. I know things seem dire now because of all the people online telling us things like "Cope.", "This is what the majority want.", and, "No one cares about physical media anymore.". This hobby doesn't die until we decide it does. I look forward to seeing how all of your collections continue to grow as time goes on post 2028.
After yesterday's direct, it's clear that Nintendo is moving away from Mario as a whole. It was most likely the lackluster sales of Mario Tennis Fever that caused this. So, with Mario's spot as top dog being open, who should take his place? I've included some picks of who I think would be the most fitting characters, but is there anyone I haven't considered?
