Unlike the architects people usually picture, either irritable or withdrawn, Cornerstone can precisely assess a building's footprint while confidently smiling through questions from clients and inspectors; she can coordinate the demands of multiple ongoing projects at a macro level, while also reliably noticing the specific struggles of the people around her. And yet, while she has built home after home for people far from her own, she has never once returned to her own homeland.
