A prosthetic user's take on Louis' foot at the auction in S1/E1.

It was a brief glimpse, but it appears like he is using a running blade as an everyday walking foot. If Louis, a billionaire, century-old vampire with access to the finest technology on Earth, wanted a modern prosthetic for a high end auction, he would be using a state of the art microprocessor-controlled hydraulic foot and ankle (like an Empress, Elan, or Meridium) with custom leather shoe integration. He’d want smooth heel to toe rollover, energy absorption, and natural adaptation to uneven floors. At the very least he would be using even just a mid-level Renegade by Freedom Innovations or an Ottobock Maverick Comfort AT. Not a springy track blade meant for a 100 meter dash!

For every day walking you use a prosthetic foot that is designed to go into a foot shell, which is a covering that mimics the exact shape and size of a natural foot. This allows you to wear a sock and shoe. Those blades are literally just for running.
It’s always wild how television shows will hire entire teams of writers to map out complex centuries old vampire lore, but completely fail to talk to a single person who actually uses prosthetics in daily life. Truly think how ridiculous it is for a suave, impeccably dressed billionaire vampire to be clacking across a high end auction floor on an unhoused running blade.
