"there are no b-sides anymore"

Was listening to my copy of Singles Collected earlier and it got me thinking - what's my ULTIMATE b-side (or non album track) from Our Guys 🤔

Personally, I'm torn between Crazy and Bandwagon

Any of you fine people have a perfect pick?

World Cup Pretend

Ok, so if I was to partake tomorrow, then it'd no doubt be another winner but it's still fun 😄

It's A Freeman Baby

So now that we all (ok, ok, some of us) have been gripped by World Cup fever, take a moment to imagine our cherished band reforming for the halftime interlude at the final.

What would be your World Cup-themed set list?

I'm kicking off with Lowblock Desert

Sing Alooooonggg

So we all know that they liked to have guest vocals on their albums ( Kate, Patti and so on) but if you could go back in time, what singer would you have loved to have heard collaborating?

I think I'd go with Beck (Hansen) as I think he'd have been an ideal fit

We have many things in common

Just been listening to Belong on earbuds and, ok, it's probably been done to death lol but could it be one of THE most complete R.E.M. songs?

In that it showcases all four members talents to the nth degree

Hairy-shirt

In a bar and I've just been asked by one of the staff - "what's your t-shirt*?"

When I elaborated, he said - ah, I think I've heard of some song titles but I'm really not sure 🤔

He looks, idk, around 20yrs of age so I rec a few deep dives for him. I'm hoping that there'll be a new recruit to the R.E.M. Ranks 😃😆

*no, no *YOU'VE* put on weight. My tee is just a smaller size, aight 😑😜

I dip in and outta Bluesky and I just stumbled across someone (hello, if you're here!!) stating What's The Freq is the heaviest song that R.E.M. ever recorded (and released) and it's the last, essential song

I'm interested to know what everyone's opinions are on this!

Personally, I'm liking their take on things, even if I'd pick Circus Envy as their heaviest and the last, essential song as Leaving NY (tho I can't really decide upon that) 🥴😄
