A couple of years ago, I planted butterfly milkweed. It has been healthy and has spread -- so far, so good.

This year, the original plant has gone all wilty, with drooping leaves, stalks, and flowers. The new clumps seem to be doing fine.

It's been brutally hot in Toronto but most plants are doing fine. The OG milkweed almost has an over-watered look but although I have watered judiciously, I have not watered not liberally.

Not sure if the photo shows what I'm referring to. The new, healthy milkweed is on the left and the wilty OG is on the right. Any thoughts about what might be ailing it and how I can mitigate?

I had some monarchs visit the fliwering common milkweed I had planted, but it wasn't until I planted swamp milkweed that I welcomed these little guys ...
