American University of Antigua (AUA) Medical School Honest Experiences Feedback (Current/Recent AUA Students)
Looking for honest feedback from current students or recent graduates. There seems to be a lot of conflicting information online, so I would truly appreciate firsthand experiences.
I would like to have some honest feedback on:
- What is the approximate attrition rate? About how many students who start the basic sciences make it to clinical rotations and eventually graduate on time?
- How manageable are the classes to pass? Are the quizzes and exams fair, and are they more focused on what is taught in class or on textbooks?
- How difficult are the NBME/CBSE/CCSE requirements? Do the majority of the students pass on the first attempt? If not, what is the remediation process?
- How are the professors overall? Are they available when students need help? Is the student academic support system responsive and helpful?
- Is the overall student environment collaborative and supportive, or is it more competitive and isolating?
- How are the clinical rotation sites in terms of teaching quality, locations, and organization?
- Once students complete all the requirements, is a clinical rotation placement available right away for every eligible student, or are spots limited?
- Do students have choices regarding where they rotate? Are delays or gaps between core and elective rotations common? If so, how long is the average waiting period?
Just want to get a realistic and honest understanding of both the positives and negatives rather than rumors. Recent experiences would be extremely helpful. Please feel free to comment or send me a DM. Thank you :)
