Are there any literary websites/blogs that are as critical as Pitchfork?
To be more specific, I’m looking for any sort of website/magazine/blog/etc that’s well known for (or at least demonstrates) high, if not outright unfair standards, and a willingness to give books (especially popular) books low scores. While this isn’t a requirement, I’m especially interested in writing that gives spotlight to lesser known literature as well.
For those who don’t know, Pitchfork is infamous for their critiques being far more pointed than more or less the rest of the music criticism industry and tend to be unforgiving even to indie music. I’m just curious if there’s a similar institution for books; I haven’t heard of any and I’d wanna read what they get up to.
