Apprenticeship Programs

Has anyone here led or participated in a mainframe apprenticeship program? Looking for info on how organizations have structured and implemented programs to attract and incentivize new mainframe talent, whether that be recent college grads or career changers.

I have read about IBM’s program but would like to know what others are doing to get more professionals in the door and keep them there.

Mainframe workforce and retirements.

I am interested in learning how IT teams are attracting new mainframe talent in their organizations as seasoned professionals retire. Do you cross-train employees from within the company so legacy knowledge isn't lost or have you partnered with any groups or local colleges to offer apprenticeships? Please share what has worked well for you aside from the usual job fairs and online postings.

This is Landy Loo. Smiling is her favorite.

Landy was a New Year’s pup and joined our family in April. She has turned into such a fluff ball. This is our first family pet so we are welcoming all of the corgi advice and tips, especially when it comes to toys she won’t destroy in five minutes. Please share away!
