Was the Tommy film one of those "you gotta watch it on LSD" experiences?

I was only a kid when the Tommy film came out, but when it was in its prime, was it one of those "you gotta watch it on LSD" experiences? I could see how the numerous scenes of Tommy staring blankly off into space would have synched up with the psychological trip the viewer was having.

Anyone else think that Morton Downey Jr.'s show influenced the shock jocks?

I was wondering if anyone else thinks that Morton Downey Jr.'s controversial TV talk show acted as an influence on the increase of radio shock jocks in the late 1980's and early 1990's? I remember watching Downey's show and noticing the similar loud, in-your-face, combative, macho style on several night-time AM radio shows.

Help me understand the personal feuds within the band?

I'm not really informed on the background to all these personal feuds within the band. So at some point Howe and Squire were angry at Jon Anderson? And this has continued between Howe and Anderson even after Squire's death. What's behind the feuds?

What examples can you think of that reinforce Schopenhauer's views?

What examples can you think of that reinforce Schopenhauer's views? I was thinking about life in prison. You imagine it would be easy, the state houses the prisoners, provides beds, and feeds them. And yet, instead of accepting this, the prisoners are known for verbally bullying and physically abusing each other. They have that striving, the will to live, the quest for power and dominance, so they can't just be kind and tolerant toward their fellow prisoners. They turn the experience of prison into a hell, a daily animal fight for survival, prisoner against prisoner, prison gang against rival prison gang.

Why was Joe dumbed down in the final season?

I didn't like that Joe was dumbed down in the final season. He became silly, a dumb guy, like a Homer Simpson type. The character of Joe had never been that way in previous seasons, he was always the intelligent one, the voice of reason in contrast to the frequent stupidity of Brian and Lowell, and the uncontrollable mood swings of Helen.

Did anyone else dislike this change in his character? It was like the writers got desperate and didn't know what else to do with him.

Why is there no similar adoration for Aftermath to Let It Bleed Mono albums that exists for the same Beatles era?

I'm curious why there's no similar adoration for the Stones Aftermath to Let It Bleed Mono albums that you see for the same Beatles era?

Among Beatles fans, that period of albums in Mono receive an amazing level of worship. I know that 10 years ago there was the Stones in Mono box set, but still I don't often encounter Stones fans going wild over the Mono albums. Is it the idea that Jagger and Richards were not as precise about how they wanted the mixes to sound? Unlike Lennon and McCartney who have a lore surrounding them that they were extremely meticulous about the mixes?

Why is there no "Quick One" Deluxe box set?

I've been wondering for many years why there's no "Quick One" Deluxe box set? Is it because the recordings for this album came out sounding a bit messy or "tinny" as fans have frequently mentioned?

Or does Pete Townshend just not consider the album to be of particular significance within the band's vast discography? I mean, its not seen as groundbreaking to the level of "Sell Out".
