Can't control fan speed on Noctua NA-FH1 fan hub... have tried everything :(

So I recently got into getting a fan hub, and eventually ended up getting the Noctua NA-FH1. I followed the instruction manual step by step

port 1 -> that's the port that reads fan RPM so it's plugged in with a 4 pin PWM cable

cable that came with fan hub is connected to system fan #1

fan hub is powered by SATA cable for extra power

---

When I first set it up, system fan 1 was showing no RPM but the fans were spinning at max speed. I eventually solved the no RPM reading because nothing was plugged in port #1.

Now it shows my fan RPM (over 2000+/max speed) but I can't control the fan speed no matter what I do.

Im using the MSI B550 Tomyhawk Max Wifi if that helps; I've tried everything I could think of.

I plugged the fan hub to CPU Fan connection and it's the same issue (RPM showing but can't control speed).

I used the Noctua 4 pin PWM extention cable on one set of my fans (it's a daisy chain 3 fans) and that didnt change anything too.

My last fan hub before the Noctua NA-FH1 also had the same exact problem, where the RPM reading was being shown but I could not control the fan speed. I ended up replacing that last fan hub with the Noctua NA-FH1 because I thought it could have been due to the 3 pin cable that provided, but I still have the same problem :(.

Positive update on thread about noticing bad side effects from long term use of Vyvanse - Dissolve your medication in water people!

So just wanted to give an update in regard to my last post (https://www.reddit.com/r/VyvanseADHD/comments/1t53ldg/vyvanse\_negatively\_impacting\_my\_overall/) and how I noticed Vyvanse negatively impacting my overall intelligence.

The post got alot of attention and it surprised me how many other people were also dealing with similar issues.

So im sure alot of you can relate with your ADHD having a 'stuborn' mode, and well lets just say I got pretty focused on how I could fix my problems with Vyvanse because I still wanted to give it a chance.

I followed alot of advice from that previous post, but the one that stood out to me most was dissolving the medication in a bottle of water... and well lets just say I wish I knew you could do this with Vyvanse from the start.

I've been on 50mg of Vyvanse for about 6+ months now, and for a time, it was amazing. However, I noticed the last few weeks I started getting pretty strange side effects, which includes:

- crazy social anxiety

- much more tired then usual

- higher baseline heart rate

-and scariest of all -> an obvious decrease in intelligence (most likely caused by the anxiety inducing terrible brain fog and 'Dementia' like memory loss).

This worried me because I really have tried to taking care of myself the last few years (clean diet, work out 5x a week, take my supplements, etc).

I listented to some people here with the water approach as well as some advice my therapist told me because I was almost certain it is an over stimulation issue. Well, im glad to say after 2 days of trying 50mg of vyvanse in water all those side effects have vanished.

I drank about half the water today (so around 25mg~ of medication) and felt like I did when I first started my medication. It could be because I took a break of my medication for a few days but I dont believe that would be enough to wipe out my tolerance.

If you guys are dealing with the same issues I listed above and haven't tried mixing your medication into water, try it out, it might be the answer.

Also another benefit I noticed after mixing my medication with water is it's kind of like 'coffee' as in I drink it when I need it. I drank about 1/3 to start the day, and then when I noticed a small 'crash' at around (3~hours) I drank to the halfway mood, and that's all I needed.

:) Hope this lasts, but im glad the medication is treating me good again. My therapist wants to throw me of all ADHD medications and go to Lexapro...but after reading the horror stories, I'd rather stay unmedicated lol, like seriously, props to you guys if you're on that nightmare fuel.

So i’ve been diagnosed with inattentive ADHD for several years now and been through so many medications. Vyvanse has been the ‘best’ overall in terms of combating my ADHD but it’s starting to worry me the longer I take it.

For a quick summary about some important things
- I workout 4-5 times a week
- I take all the important ADHD supplements (L-Theanine, fishoil, nightly multivitamin, high quality fish oil, NALT, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, etc…)
- always take a high protein drink before taking my meds in the morning
- try to get a protein drink at the halfway point of my medication
- sometimes take 5-10g of creatine when my brain fog is really bad that day

Despite all the research ive done over the last year (best supplements to take for ADHD and maximizing how I use Vyvanse) my Vyvanse relationship is starting to fall apart.

Right now im on 50mg (a higher dose ik) and that’s because of my therapist and me realizing I have a pretty severe case of inattentive ADHD. Anyways the beginning of this medication was too good to be true. My mind was crystal clear, depression was vaporized, emotions were controlled, and my social skills was amazing. Fast forward a few months later and well the honeymoon phase has passed. Most of the benefits are no where near as good as they once were. I used to take my medication every single day (7 times a week). But because of the effects not being their anymore ive moved to only weekdays being my med days. Anyways over the months ive realized to really scary ‘side effects’ if you can call them that.

#1 I feel like ive become ‘dumber’ on Vyvanse
- I forgot small details like never before
- struggling to keep clear and coherent sentences when I speak (resulted in getting teased for it
- sometimes on the med ill feel like ive been lobotomized…like there’s nothing going on in my brain which is scary

#2 anxiety getting worse
- ive had social anxiety issues my whole life, but they were pretty minor. Ive noticed now even simple conversations will cause me to over think how I respond to a stranger or friend resulting in elevated heart rate and me fucking up what I say (doesn’t come out the way I wanted it too).

Tbh it’s starting to scare me and im starting to feel like my life is over because of how bad my ADHD is. Thought this was finally ‘the one’ and it was for some time. Now it feels like the medication is a cancer eating away at my mental health and making underlying issues even worse and more exposed. Ive read some research studies on how for some people with ADHD, the meds can mute the ADHD but since most people with ADHD are neurodivergent, it will cause the other ‘issues’ to be more present (not sure how true this is).

The only solution I thought of right now is cutting down to 40mg of the medication but im worried that I wont see anything at that dose.

Anyone else dealing with the same issues? If so and if you’ve figured away to deal with it, how?

Just feel so hopeless :(
