overnight bag must haves

Hi friends
Before I start to get in a habit of adding overtime to do 24-36 hour shifts I’m hoping to have a condensed list of things I actually should be bringing to make staying in a bunk room comfortable as a female!

Do people bring changes of clothes to sleep in

Curly hair friends do you have any hero products to bring to these long shifts to not look like you have a rats nest on your head- are we bringing our whole curl routine or have you found 1-2 hero products that do the job?

Hours required for healthcare benefits

Hello!
I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced a company that claims they are only able to give full time benefits if you hit 40 hours exactly every week? I had been with a different company and the full time requirement there was 3 12 hours shifts or 36 hours to get benefits.

I am reluctant to accept my new job offer because of their 40 hour requirement as I am a bit further from where they operate out of and it is going to be at least a 75-90 minute commute in and back home right now and finding a new living situation isn’t a viable option for me right now.

Is this legal? I have worked a number of different jobs where I’ve been offered benefits at 30 hours before but was still under my parents insurance so I never had to worry about it.

Yes I am aware many office jobs are 40 hours full time but part of the appeal of EMS for me was the flexibility in schedules. I just do not know how long I would be able to sustain working a 16h Sunday, 6.5h Monday, 10h Wednesday and an 8hr Saturday.

The Saturday into Sunday is what’s really spooking me to be honest because I know end times tend to be more of a suggestion than a hard stop from a previous EMS job and worry about driving an hour+ home to shower, eat and sleep to be out the door on the road by 4:30a latest to start the 16hr day

ETA the company covers the vast majority of the North Shore in my state and operates with 250-500 employees according to Indeed so far more than 50 employees
