How do foreigners with different values adapt to Mexico City culture?
Hi everyone,
I’m from Morocco and recently moved to Mexico City. I’m still adapting to life here, and some cultural differences are difficult for me.
For religious and personal reasons, I don’t drink alcohol or eat pork. I also find it hard sometimes to connect socially when many gatherings involve drinking, parties, or food I can’t eat.
I don’t mean this as criticism of Mexico or Mexican people. I’m just trying to understand how foreigners with different values or lifestyles adapt, make friends, and participate socially here.
Do you have any advice for finding social activities that don’t revolve around alcohol or partying?
Thank you
