Legal Aid Trial Lawyer? Do they exist?
I’m a family law lawyer. It seems many lawyers won’t touch legal aid certificates at all, let alone trials, which many representatives seem to avoid like the plague.
We’ve all heard of the “dump-truck” lawyer who represents their clients until the eve of trial, then leaves them high and dry before the big day. I understand this is all too common.
Are there any lawyers who do the opposite, by exclusively doing legal aid trials? I love being in Court and helping lower income folks with parenting/support issues, and given the above, I’d assume there’s an opening in the market.
What does this look like, if it exists? Is this feasible? Is it profitable? Is it stupid to even ask?
Would love to hear more about this :)
