Céline Dion - Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi | Switzerland 🇨🇭| Winner of Eurovision 1988

Céline Dion - Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi | Switzerland 🇨🇭| Winner of Eurovision 1988

To celebrate Canada officially joining the Eurovision Song Contest, I thought I'd shout out the most iconic Canadian participant and one of our most famous singers! Céline Dion represented Switzerland after winning the national final at age 20, going on to beat the United Kingdom for the victory by a single vote.

I liked to joke that Canada technically won Eurovision once because of Céline. But that joke doesn't quite work anymore with us officially in. Anyways, I can't wait to see who we send for 2027!

Should the live backing vocals rule be reintroduced?

I was watching pre-2021 entries and noticed how we don't really see backing vocalists on stage anymore, with a few exceptions. It makes me wonder how songs from 2021-2026 that relied on prerecorded vocals would've done with the old rules. Like, Cha Cha Cha or Wasted Love.

What do you think the biggest change allowing prerecorded vocals has been on performances? And how would reintroducing the live backing vocal rule affect future songs?

Eurovision 2014: The Postcards

I got into Eurovision in 2020 (perfect time, I know). But, looking back at older editions, something which really stands out to me is 2014's postcards! I love how creative the concept is. And they're fun to watch even outside of the contest, especially compared to this year's holograms. Personal favourites from this montage are Finland and Belarus!

What are your favourite postcard segments from past editions?
