Photon P1 – Sticky/tacky surfaces only in certain areas of the build plate
Hi everyone,
I’m having a strange issue with my Anycubic Photon P1 and I’m hoping someone here has experienced something similar.
Some parts of my prints remain slightly sticky/tacky after washing and curing. The models themselves are hard, the details look almost perfect, and the supports are strong. However, when I touch the affected areas with nitrile gloves, the glove slightly sticks to the surface.
The strange part is that the issue seems to be position-dependent.
🔴 The areas marked in red consistently produce the sticky surface.
🟢 The other areas produce normal, non-sticky prints.
I have already tested:
- Anycubic ABS-Like Resin 3.0
- Anycubic Texture Resin
- 0.05 mm layer height
- 2.0 s normal exposure
- Different Z-lift settings
- Multiple washing cycles (up to 3 washes)
- Moving the same models to different positions on the build plate
The problem follows the specific areas of the build plate, rather than the models.
I also performed an exposure test using paper over the LCD, and the UV light appeared visually uniform across the screen.
The printer is also heated, and the heater is located on the same side where the affected areas are, so I’m wondering if temperature distribution could potentially be involved.
Could this be related to:
- Uneven UV exposure that isn't visible in a basic exposure test?
- Wave Release Film?
- Temperature distribution?
- Leveling/build plate alignment?
- LCD/optical system?
- Something specific to the Photon P1?
Has anyone experienced sticky/tacky surfaces only in certain areas of the Photon P1 build plate?
Any suggestions for diagnostic tests would be greatly appreciated!
I’ve attached a photo showing the affected areas marked in red.
