Degree?

I’ve worked through an EMT-B program through my high school and will be able to take national registry in roughly 3 weeks just before graduation. I’m trying to figure what comes next and am searching for different paramedic programs. Many of the community colleges in my area (East of Dallas) offer an AAS of EMS/Paramedicine separate from their traditional ~9 month certification programs. Would it be worth it to pursue these programs or would it be better to work towards a standard Associates Degree after the 9 month program? My only concern is a lack of options if I want to step out of EMS later in life

Edit: The AAS is a technical degree and is not set up to transfer for a BS. The standard Associates degree is meant to transfer to a 4-year institute.
