The view tho
The flight to Las Vegas is bumpy af (I’ve gone twice this year and it’s been bumpy both times) but it’s so gorgeous the world is beautiful.

I flew home today (iAd) from London and while I did take my meds I actually enjoyed the flight? I upgraded to Polaris which is like business class for United Airlines. And I ate my meals, which I never do even with meds. I watched movies. I took a nap. And i was sad when it was time to land!! I think traveling for a month made me look at this flight as just another part of this amazing journey and not this scary thing. Who knows. Maybe the next flights won’t be as good but today was awesome and I just wanted to say maybe someday I can do this without meds?
This past week, more people died attending street festivals than in commercial airplanes. This past year more people died WALKING and minding their own business following traffic rules in my own county than have died in a commercial airplane. (We had four pedestrian deaths in 48 hours in july) so why does our brain not understand? We are so much safer in a plane than even at a street festival. I don’t know there is no question here I would really just like evolution to catch up with technology.
It’s the middle of July and I thought for sure I would be able to book a slot for the louvre which gave me more than two hours to explore. Nope. Only evening or late afternoon times left and no openings for the Michelangelo/Rodin special exhibit. So, I bought a “friends of the louvre” card. It cost 95 euros so it’s not cheap BUT you get unlimited entry and a special, secret ZERO LINE entrance. Today, I went to the special exhibit, left for lunch then came back to see a few other things. If you can’t book time at the Louvre but it’s something you really want to do, or you just hate having to plan out every minute of your day (other museums require timed entries as well) then this is the way to go!
I booked this villa over a year ago for my husband’s 50th. I fly a lot because I love seeing the world and I just accept that the flying part is just something I have to get through. I would love if some day the flying was enjoyable but for now, I just do it to get to be in places like this.
