Had dinner at Akka Dining Lounge this week and honestly one of the best Middle Eastern dining experiences I’ve had in Ottawa in a while. We ordered a mix of dishes and every single thing tasted fresh, flavourful and made with care.
The mansaf was absolutely incredible — tender, comforting and full of flavour. Definitely one of the standout dishes for me. The dynamite prawns were also SO good, perfectly crispy with the right amount of sauce and spice. We also tried the kibbeh and it was delicious, crispy on the outside and packed with flavour inside.
One thing I need to mention separately is their lemon mint drink because I’m still thinking about it 😭 It was super refreshing and honestly one of the best drinks I’ve had with a meal in a long time.

And then came the kunafa… probably the biggest kunafa I’ve had in Ottawa so far and FULL of cheese. Not dry at all like some places. It came out warm, crispy, cheesy and fresh — genuinely so satisfying.

The ambiance was also beautiful. The restaurant has such a cozy and elegant vibe without feeling too formal. It felt very welcoming and relaxing, the kind of place where you actually want to sit and enjoy your evening instead of rushing out. Service was great too and the staff were very kind and attentive throughout.
Overall, such a lovely experience and I can definitely see myself going back. If you’re looking for good Palestinian food in Ottawa, I’d really recommend trying Akka Dining Lounge.
