What is the sweet spot for flushing volumes for filament change?

I finally got canvas up and running and now I'm trying to fine tune it, this alien bust was my first multi color print. I got this really bad color bleed between elegoo white, and this shiny red/blue. This was with default flush volume.

Next test I did a cube with dots and doubled the purge volume and it looks better but still bad.

Next I did it again and maxed out the purge volume. Bleeding fixed but of course this produces and obscene amount of poop.

I'm not 100% sure what the values mean in the flushing volumes box, so I'm pretty lost.

Please help.

Getting this error when I can literally see the filament extruding. I am losing my mind. CC1 with CANVAS.

SOLVED Look at ProdigiousCustoms' comments

"What saved my ass on this, the new extruder was super loose. I had to take it apart and tighten it. It failed to grab consistently. Gave me the same error"

"Tighten the screw all the way clockwise and after give it one full or half counterclockwise turn."

I'm happy for everyone that got their canvas to work, but I have been having nothing but problems since I opened the box.

I'm on the cc1. Installation took way longer than it should have, because I don't know my ass from an Allen wrench, and I've been getting bombarded with problems. I feel like I've tried everything. I can see filament coming out so it's clearly not a jam, clog, tangle, or something like that. There's nothing broken off in the tubes, nothing lodged in the gear box, nothing is blocking that 4 way piece thing. I even adjusted that stupid tiny screw for the tension of the whatever the hell.

I don't want to regret this purchase.

I am begging for help.
