Wait…..what?

Wait…..what?

Did anybody else realize that Pa and Ma allowed Mary to get engaged when she was 13???? She wasn’t out of school or even close. BUT Pa made a huge deal when Laura was crushing on Almanzo. All of the “little girl” stuff sounds very different than his attitude with John Jr. Now before you all make the excuse that John and Mary were closer in age, that makes John Jr a BOY. Almanzo was an adult with a job and a home and much more capable of actually taking care of a wife and family. Just an observation.

The Chicago episode

There’s something about this episode that always confused me. Charles comes home with news that he is representing Walnut Grove at the Grange. It’s an all expense paid trip that Caroline was going to make with Charles until they decide to allow Mary to go so she can see John Jr.

Well when they get to Chicago, they discover they’ve been booked into a fancy suite. This suite has two bedrooms and a large living room. How did whoever paid for the room know that Charles was bringing his daughter and needed two rooms? If the intent was for Caroline to go they wouldn’t have needed two separate bedrooms unless “they” thought he would be bringing his family. Either way, why was he sent that old ugly hooker to uh…help him decide how to vote? Who would do that with his wife or family around? Is this one of those ML story edits that just wasn’t thought out well or did I miss something?

Caroline is supposed to be a seamstress?

All those episodes where Caroline makes clothes for the family and the whole Mary is not as good as her mom. Well when the handyman (Chris) falls off the roof and tears his shirt, Caroline takes it from him to wash and mend. I’ve seen this episode a couple dozen times and never realized how terrible that repair looks. I’m not even good and sewing and I’m positive I can do a better job than that!
