Hey everyone,

I’ve been doing some research around websites for small service-based businesses and wanted to get some real input from people actually running them.

From what I’ve seen, there seems to be a bit of a gap, on one side you’ve got high-end custom builds that are overkill (and expensive), and on the other side DIY builders or cheap outsourcing that don’t always turn out the way people hoped.

I’m trying to better understand how business owners are currently approaching this, so I had a few quick questions:

  • Do you currently have a website for your business?
  • If yes, did you build it yourself or hire someone?
  • How was the process (easy, frustrating, time-consuming, etc.)?
  • Are you actually happy with how your site performs?
  • Do you feel like your website helps build trust and bring in customers, or is it just “there”?
  • If there was an option to have a clean, professional, no-stress website done for a reasonable fixed price, would that be something you’d consider?
  • Would working with someone local matter to you, or not really?

Not selling anything here, just trying to understand what people actually need vs what’s currently out there.

Appreciate any honest feedback 🙏
