Looking for a Trakt alternative: Must-haves are Android TV support, deep-linking, and robust sorting/filtering
I’ve been scouring this sub for options, but I’m looking for some specific guidance based on my current setup. I’m moving away from Trakt primarily because the v3 experience and the lack of development on the Google/Android TV side aren’t working for me anymore.
I’m looking for recommendations for a new service to test that fits these criteria:
- Platform: Needs to work well on Android and, most importantly, has a dedicated or highly functional app for Google/Android TV.
- The "Click-to-Watch" Feature: This is a must. I primarily use mainstream apps (Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+, Peacock, etc.). I need the tracker to know which services I have and be able to open the correct app directly to the movie or episode when I click "play."
- Scrobbling & Sync: Reliable background scrobbling of watch history and sync of my watchlists across devices.
- List Management: I need to be able to sort and filter my watchlists (e.g., by release date, genre, etc.).
I’ve seen names like Wako, PunchPlay, and others mentioned around here, but I’m having trouble narrowing down which ones actually deliver on the "click-to-watch" and Android TV integration pieces effectively for mainstream streaming apps.
Has anyone found a platform that nails the Android TV experience while keeping that direct streaming app integration? Any advice on what to prioritize for testing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
