Is this abusive... From rep?
I received this text from my rep after I politely asked a question about how they're submitting me. How would you feel about this, because I'm reeling and it feels aggressive. To the point I don't want to speak to them. Thanks in advance:
Yes, I think you should call me because I want to address your text because your text does not make any fucking sense as I know u have limited experience with the auditioning process we need to talk so u understand how it works both on uk and us and in General
Edit: a lot of questions of what I said (in a polite professional manner on text, no profanity) here's the context:
I basically asked if he was submitting me for roles that are not just one ethnicity (which is what I've been getting with him, very boxed in and limited) whereas auditions I received before were very varied and roles I booked could be any ethnicity and type. Like one film premiered at Cannes. I know he had a strained relationship with his mother who he calls a narcissist and he tends to work better with his male clients. Also 6 months ago I set up an intro call with a female producer who ended up incredibly upset and said she has never been spoken to like that. I was on the call but was half listening as I was on a shoot. But I was sporadically listening and I wish I had cut it off. They basically bumped heads/bumped egos (what I thought at the time) it should have been a red flag. She was livid and visibly/vocally upset. She said he shouted at her, he can be passionate but it got heated, out of nowhere. He also calls at random times and gets annoyed if I'm not fully listening because I'm not really available when he calls. He's a manager and I was looking for a strategic partnership in regards to representing. Thanks for reading if you got this far! There's so more I can't fit in here. This has been like therapy.
