I wanted to do an update post on my frog Ginyu (he passed)
i'm marking this NSFW because he did pass away. He passed away on his own (omg i didnt know they passed away splayed out like that) Soo he had an infection above his eyes-- his "sibling" did not. I included the email the Dr included so hopefully this brings awareness to said illness. I'm genuinely not sure how he got this infection because 1, his "sibling" is showing no signs of it even though he is in the same habitat. 2, it became so rapid that he even stopped eating.
I have definitely monitored the tank that they (were) are in and have cycled the substrate so maybe no infection is still there. He got really bad & eventually stopped eating. Luckily (?) he passed just before I went for vacation so its almost like he knew.
The infection is called Mycobacterium xenopi. If anyone has ANY tips and info so i make sure this never happens again please please please let me know.
Rip Ginyu☹️🩷
