Got Grade 4 CSEC Math for Land Surveying at UTech Can I do Foundation Math instead of deferring?
Hey everyone,
I just checked my preliminary CSEC results and ended up getting a Grade 4 in General Mathematics.
I hold a conditional offer for the Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying and Geographic Information Science at UTech for this upcoming semester, but standard matriculation requires a CSEC Math pass (Grades I–III).
I’ve already reached out to UTech Admissions to ask about available pathways, but while I wait on an official response, I wanted to ask if anyone here has gone through a similar situation:
Does UTech usually allow you to start Year 1 conditionally if you take an internal developmental course (like Foundation Mathematics) or sit a Math Proficiency Test?
Or do they strictly require you to defer and resit CSEC Math in January before you can start degree-level coursework?
Would love to hear from anyone who went through this or knows if Admissions is flexible with math requirements.
Thanks!
