Organising the DS library

The DS team has now made over 1700 hours of fantastic Spanish CI. I'm very grateful for the team for all the work they do to make great content for learning Spanish.

I'm finding the site quite overwhelming though. I wish there was more ways to organise the vast amount of amazing content available in the DS library.

Would love to be able to see my liked videos so I can revisit videos I marked as liked. Having only one place, the list, for liked videos, to watch videos, videos that were hard and I want to come back to in a month or two, etc. gets very overwhelming when you have been using DS for over 400 hours and add to the list a lot. Being able to organise the list and/or filter it would be even better.

I also wish there was a way to filter out videos I'm not interested in. Perhaps the unlike button could be used for this? The only work around I know of is to mark videos as watched without adding the time, but this isn't a solution when you're including watched videos in your search.

Adding some more functions like these would be extremely helpful.

I'm considering taking a break from DS for a while and going back to my physical book and CD progressive course because the DS site is overwhelming to navigate.

TO THE DS STAFF: series idea: musical instruments!

Since others have been posting series ideas, I thought I'd post about the dream series I've been thinking of the last couple of days.

Seeing as a few of the guides play music, I thought maybe one of them might be interested in making a series introducing some different instruments, hopefully including a bit about how they're played. I can see this having potential as good input for left and right as well as for some body parts and the basics of instrument anatomy (e.g. keys and neck, bow and drum stick) if the guide took it in that direction. But would be very interested in a series on instruments no matter what aspects the guides chose to focus on.

Hide videos option

I wish there was a way to mark videos as "not interested" or to hide videos I don't want to watch yet. There are a few videos on topics I'm not interested in, yet I don't want to mark them as watched if I didn't actually watch them. There are some I'm not very interested in but might decide to watch them in a few months when they're easier than the other videos I'm generally watching, if that makes sense.

Would also be great to be able to organise the list videos in some way.

Subtitles not working

It used to be that subtitles worked inconsistently. Some videos they turned on automatically when subtitles were "on", others not, but they'd usually turn on if I refreshed the page. But now I can't remember the last time I could see the subtitles on a video older than December last year.

Is anyone else having this issue or is this just a my device thing?

EDIT: I'm not a purist and prefer to engage with DS in a variety of different ways to keep my attention focused. My ADHD means I can't do things the exact same way all the time but have to adapt my approach a lot.

Often find myself zoning out lately watching DS videos without subs. When that happens, I can try watching more recent videos with subs and find I get more out of it. It helps pick up new vocab.

I also sometimes like to write down interesting or funny sentences from the subs into a notebook and flip through it from time to time, underlining new vocab. This helps me keep track of my progress. Without subs that option isn't there.

Having the option of subtitles doesn't mean you'll rely on them. Wouldn't it be good to be able to have them either on or off and to make use of both ways of engaging with content?

Also some of us are hard of hearing and need subs.
